Job Overview & Key Responsibilities
We are seeking an experienced Azure Cloud Engineer holding active enhanced Security Clearance (eSC) for a 12-month, remote-first contract (with occasional travel to London). Working on a high-profile public sector programme, you will build, optimize, and support secure, scalable Azure environments alongside senior architects and engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Design, deploy, and maintain Azure infrastructure using Terraform or Bicep.
- Pipeline Automation: Build and improve CI/CD pipelines via Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
- Platform Modernization: Support cloud migrations, system upgrades, and platform optimization.
- Security & Governance: Ensure environments meet strict governance requirements using Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) and RBAC.
- Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Configure Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and alerting to resolve infrastructure issues across production environments.
Essential & Desirable Qualifications
- Mandatory: Active eSC Clearance.
- Core Skills: Hands-on Azure expertise, IaC (Terraform/Bicep), PowerShell or Python scripting, and core networking (VNets, NSGs, Firewalls, Load Balancers).
- Desirable Extras: Experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Docker, Azure Landing Zones, Microsoft Sentinel / Defender for Cloud, and AZ-104 or AZ-305 certifications.
