Opportunity Overview: Hotel Management Trainer / Assessor

This opportunity is open to both Qualified Assessors and Trainee Assessors. Key Responsibilities

1. Apprenticeship Delivery & Coaching

  • Hospitality Standards Training: Deliver Level 2 and Level 3 Hospitality Apprenticeship Standards covering Front of House, Reception, Reservations, Food & Beverage, Food Production, and Back of House modules.
  • Blended Delivery: Conduct structured training sessions using a flexible, blended model—combining virtual online teaching with regular face-to-face workplace visits across Leeds and Sheffield.
  • Tailored Coaching: Adapt learning plans to meet diverse learner needs, helping apprentices build real-world skills, prepare for End-Point Assessment (EPA), and progress in their hotel careers.

2. Caseload & Progress Management

  • Learner Caseload Ownership: Manage an active caseload of hospitality learners, conducting regular progress reviews and setting clear learning milestones.
  • Portfolio & Administrative Compliance: Maintain accurate, timely learner portfolios and compliance records via online e-portfolio platforms.
  • Performance & Quality Targets: Meet quality assurance criteria and learner completion targets set by Awarding Organizations and Ofsted standards.

Required Profile & Qualifications

Essential Experience & Requirements

  • Hotel Management Experience: Practical experience working in a supervisory or management role within a hotel environment (e.g., Hotel Manager, Front of House Manager, Reception Manager, or Shift Manager).
  • Operational Breadth: Practical exposure across multi-departmental hotel functions, including Reception, Housekeeping, and Food & Beverage.
  • Culinary Foundation: Hands-on experience preparing fresh food from scratch (to support Food Production modules).
  • Hospitality Qualification: Ideally hold a Level 2 qualification (or higher) in Hospitality (e.g., Food & Beverage, Reception, Housekeeping, or Team Leading).
  • Licence & Mobility: Full UK driving licence and access to a reliable vehicle for regional field visits (flexibility to travel across Yorkshire/Humberside is required).

Desirable / Trainee Pathway

  • Qualified Assessors: TAQA, CAVA, A1, or D32/D33 assessing qualifications (qualifies for top-end salary band).
